Book of $DODO

Part 2: The Race

Little Dodo didn’t understand the world he was born into.
The sky was burning, the ground was shaking, and trees were falling like bowling pins.
A primitive instinct screamed at him:

RUN.

There was no time to think, only shaking legs and shortness of breath.
He jumped onto a log, dodged a boulder, rolled down a hill.
He didn’t know why, but he felt he had to survive.
That there was a greater purpose.

As he ran, the ground opened up behind him.
Smoke. Lava. Nothing.
But ahead, a light in the sky.
Blue. Pulsing.
It wasn’t a star.

It was a spaceship.
Alien technology, appearing at the exact moment everything seemed over.
A magnetic rope dropped.
Little Dodo was sucked into the ship, into the silence of space.

Then… darkness.
Then… an artificial voice:

“Last Dodo detected. Initiating resurrection protocol.
Prepare for simulation.”
